I have a question. My instructors grandmother died and the wake is tomorrow. Should I attend? I didn't know his grandmother but I know his mom (whose mother it is that died)from her coming to the Dojo and talking with her, etc. I'm friends with 2 of his sisters, our children are friends also. And I work there too. Some people are saying because I don't know the grandmother I shouldn't attend. And that my teacher may not want us to see him upset. I just want to be there for the family members I do know for moral support. My gut tells me to attend. What would you do?

Hey Rachel,
Mike and I are going to go. I think we're gonna go at like 5:00.

a brief appearance would probably mean a lot to the instructor and family.
