  1. I believe it is best to train both gi and no gi in BJJ but I think that it is better to spend more time training gi, especially early on. Read more about gi vs no gi here.

    There are a lot of things to consider when trying to pick out the best BJJ school. Here is a list of the what you should look for in a school before joining.
  2. Tonight I wrote about how training in martial arts is one of the best ways to lose weight. It allows you to stay active and teaches you about discipline. It has helped me lose 27 pounds.
  3. Last night I posted an entry about fitocracy. It is like the fitness facebook. My first impressions are that it is pretty cool and worth trying out. The only downside is that it is limited to people who are invited. If you comment on my post at I will try to hook you up with an invite.
  4. I don't actually have any facts of figures to support my above claim that jiu jitsu is good for the soul but I strongly believe it is true. Since begining to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 3 months ago I am feeling happier and healthier. I have even dropped 26 pounds of fat.
